Why we built this
In January 2025, the Eaton and Palisades fires devastated communities across Los Angeles. Thousands of families lost everything—homes, belongings, memories.
In the aftermath, we saw people overwhelmed by an unexpected challenge: documenting everything they'd lost for insurance claims. Hours spent trying to remember items, describe them accurately, and estimate their value—often while still in shock, displaced, and grieving.
Most people have photos of their homes and belongings scattered across their phones and cloud storage. We realized that with modern AI, we could turn those photos into structured inventory lists automatically.

How it works
ProofList uses advanced AI to analyze your photos and identify every visible item. For each item, we provide:
- Detailed description — Brand, model, color, size when visible
- Category — Electronics, Furniture, Kitchen, etc.
- Estimated value — Current retail replacement cost
- Condition assessment — New, Like New, Good, Fair, Poor
- Search links — Direct links to find comparable items online
The result is an Excel spreadsheet with embedded photo thumbnails, ready to submit to your insurance company or use for any documentation need.
